Jessie Mackay has been painting full-time for nearly 30 years. She travels the world seeking inspiration for her next series of paintings. Her work has been exhibited nationally and been featured in numerous publications, including Architectural Digest.
Currently residing in Pinehurst, North Carolina, Jessie was raised in Connecticut and has lived all over the world. In addition to her work as an artist, Jessie also spends her time traveling and raising awareness for Karimu - the 501(c)(3) nonprofit she began with a friend in 2008 which focuses on women’s empowerment projects in Tanzania.

“My art is not representational in the traditional sense, but expresses emotion as I look at my subject, and always it is joy. Colour is what inspires me. When I look at a subject, the feeling I have is what determines the colours I use, not just what I see before me.”
