June 2023 Open House

We had our first open house of the 2023 summer season on Saturday and had the most wonderful time visiting with gallery supporters, old and new. The rainy weather was a change of pace from the previous three summer events we’ve hosted, but plenty of people still came out to see the art on display in our cottage gallery space and throughout the first floor of our 18th century home.

We couldn’t have been more pleased with the turnout and, most importantly, we learned that an event can be successful even in the rain! The following are just a few photos I snapped leading up to the open house. This was the first time I realized that opening up the house and the gallery space allowed us to have a combined 90 works from our artists on view at once, so these photos show just a fraction of the work we had out during the gathering.

Our next open house is on August 19th, 2023 - sign up for the gallery newsletter to receive the event details.

Richard Kooyman’s Distant Horizon, Elizabeth Endres’s Pale Yellow, Pink Light, Two Figures, and Ariane Luckey’s Castine, Early Morning were hung in our newly painted light blue living room.

Bayard Hollins’s Ducktrap Bridge anchored the dining area alongside Ellen Rolli’s Vessel w/ Pink Bellflower and Lisa Hardy’s Whispers paintings. Andras Bality’s Outlook painting hung in our navy mudroom (near Heidi Daub’s Meetings & Partings and John Vinton’s Pilgrim Heights III paintings.)

Lucy Reiser’s Harbor I paired well next to Melanie Parke’s Pepper Island painting.

Michael finished our new built-in bookcase just in time for the event the night before. It housed a variety of works including Jeanine Sobell Pastore’s River / Ocean and her Next to the Contented Sole, Ellen Rolli’s Spring Palette Vessels and Vessel w/ Stem on Off White, Stephen Dinsmore’s Figure and Palm and Circus Arrival, and Kathy Sole’s Beach Memory painting in the middle. Julie Bowers Murphy’s Fisherman and Jeanine Sobell Pastore’s Beyond the Pine created a nice vignette in the dining area.

Ariane Luckey’s White Barn, Carmel Hill paired well with Anki Gelb’s Land’s End painting atop our Svenskt Tenn papered entryway.

In the kitchen were Richard Kooyman’s Two Pines on the Beach and Coming In by Bayard Hollins. Julie Bowers Murphy’s Early Morning, Deer Isle painting popped against the green walls in our office.
