Our August Open House

We were gifted another beautiful, sunny day for our second Open House of the 2022 summer season! (See photos from our June Open House here.)

Dozens of new paintings arrived in the weeks leading up to our August event, so even people who were able to attend the June opening earlier in the summer had plenty of new works to see in person. We traded our go-to local cupcake order for delicious cookies from Tandem Bakery - a hit with both kids and adults.

Neighbors from South Portland and Cape Elizabeth made the trek to Willard Square by foot or by bike, and others made the drive up from places like Kittery and York or down from Yarmouth and Brunswick. Boston-based artists, Kathy Soles and Jeanine Sobell Pastore, were also in attendance and happily chatted with visitors about their own work.

Sadly, I forgot - once again - to take photos of people here during the event, but I was able to snap the below photos just before we welcomed people in the afternoon.

Julia Jensen’s Long Since anchored the patio for the afternoon.

A monotype from Patty Castellini, two works by Elizabeth Endres, and a Richard Kooyman landscape were placed around the mantel of our 18th century fireplace inside the house.

A seascape by Jeanine Sobell Pastore and two new works by Elizabeth Endres were hung in the living room.

Two more Elizabeth Endres works in the kitchen alongside a seascape by Jeanine Sobell Pastore and one of the new Pomegranate collage paintings by Diana Forbes. Nearby, a brand new gridded abstract painting by Beth Munro added a pop of color and pattern to the room.

Sea salt chocolate chip, chocolate fennel, and spicy ginger molasses cookies from Tandem Bakery were a hit.
