Minnesota-based artist, Donna Bruni, is known for creating abstract, atmospheric oil paintings on canvas. She uses broad, richly layered planes of color to evoke a sense of place within the canvas surface. Her paintings reflect temporal elements in our shared environments — weather, changing seasons, air, water, sky, clouds, land, light patterns. The compositions investigate edges, boundaries, movement and transitions. Conceptually, the canvases focus on perception of time and space, past and present, through the painting process. Travel in many regions of Italy, Spain, Central America, and the United States provide diverse visual references and artistic influences.

Artist’s Statement
"I'm interested in places we are drawn to in our lives and stories that belong to those places. My work is influenced by daily observations of changing environments and nature's continual renewal. My paintings are a record of visual and sensory experiences, combining elements of landscape with abstraction as a means to create visual poetry."
