Jessie Mackay Studio Tour
Gallery artist Jessie Mackay and I are from the same small town in North Carolina, but the two of us hadn’t actually met in person until we’d been working with one another for over a year. Home visiting our families in North Carolina for the Thanksgiving holiday, my husband and I took the opportunity to meet Jessie at her home and studio in Pinehurst, North Carolina. We had a wonderful visit with Jessie and her sweet studio dog, Alice. Jessie’s home is filled with art - her own works alongside those she’s picked up all over the world during her time traveling throughout Africa and living abroad in Europe.
Having parents who live just a few minutes away from Jessie’s home, I’m thankful I will have plenty of opportunities to return to this inspiring space and hear more of Jessie’s stories time and again.
