August 2023 Open House
After a rainy start to Maine’s summer and our Open House in June, we enjoyed a fantastic day for our final gathering of the season this August. As we were frantically preparing the night before, we were gifted a beautiful rainbow after dinner and took that be a very good sign for things to come.
Artists Patty Castellini and Kathy Soles made the trip to celebrate with us for the day from their respective homes in New Hampshire and Boston. We enjoyed seeing neighborhood friends and collectors who traveled from afar and made a day of it out in Portland, and we were grateful to meet some new acquaintances as well. Guests gathered for drinks under the lights on our patio and snacked on cookies from Scratch Baking Co. and Milk Bar. Brand new works were on show from Melanie Parke, Elizabeth Endres, Julia Jensen, Claire Cushman, Andras Bality, Diana Forbes, and Jeanine Sobell Pastore.
We were, once again, overjoyed with the community support and genuine enthusiasm for our artists’ work. Thank you all for following along and keeping up with the latest happenings and the new arrivals from our talented group of artists.
Bayard Hollins’s Ducktrap Bridge commands the built-in cabinetry in our home office with two new small landscapes by Jeanine Sobell Pastore: Ocean Mist and Ocean Winds.
In our kitchen is: Elizabeth Endres’s Dusk Walk Dog Meet, Diana Forbes’s Summer Lemons, and Heidi Daub’s A Claim.
A variety of work on view in our gallery space during the open house, while a brand new Julia Jensen - Restoration - took center stage over this sofa.
Another Julia Jensen - I Could Never Follow - placed in our kitchen, with Veil by Kathy Soles, August Burning Low by Claire Cushman, and Whimsy by Ellen Rolli hung in the living room.
Money Island by John Vinton was hung in the dining room alongside two new works by Elizabeth Endres.
Billow & Sail by Heidi Daub paired nicely with a brand new painting by Andras Bality - Goats of Manana.
