Featured: Maine Home + Design
It is truly a joy for me to see the home of our dear friends, Samantha & Ryan Pappas, featured on the pages of the March/April 2025 Art Issue of Maine Home + Design. As an interior designer, Samantha is no stranger to having her stunning projects included on the pages of various design magazines. However, this time, the feature highlights her family’s own home. She & Ryan embarked on a massive renovation of their house in Yarmouth just two weeks before Samantha was diagnosed with breast cancer. In the article, Samantha explains what a gift the renovation became in allowing her to focus on something other than her health, and also how healing it was for the entire family to be back in the completed house as she was wrapping up months of chemotherapy.
Apart from being a proud friend, I am also ecstatic to share that this family of five (plus a very sweet dog) live with works of art from Julie Bowers Murphy, Anne Darby Parker, Ellen Rolli, and cee & she. Two of Julie’s paintings can be seen in the article - Portrait of a Woodsman Who May (Or May Not) Resemble LL Bean and Odette & Odile. The article’s full bleed title image also includes a glimpse of a grouping of art that includes Ellen Rolli’s Vintage Jug w/ Blue Hydrangeas and Anne Darby Parker’s Figure in Warmth I.
Photographs of the Pappas home are by the talented Courtney Elizabeth.
Further along in this issue is a fantastic profile of gallery artists, cee & she. Writer Leah Whalen did such a fantastic job telling the origin story of the ceramicist duo, Christina Wnek & Ashley O’Brion, and the photos by Jenny Bravo are beautiful.
